Health, Safety and Environmental Management System
BLH is committed to provide and maintain a safe and healthy working environment to all employees, contractors and visitors, regardless of the location. BLH Management will take all reasonable steps to ensure all activities are in line with our corporate OH&S goals, ensuring a safe and healthy culture along with minimal impact to the environment.
Our HSE Management System conforms to the continuous improvement cycle of AS/NZS 4801:01 Occupational Health & Safety Management System standard with certification scope in the following:
- Labour Hire Operations
- Project Management
- Workshop and Metal Fabrication
Maintaining high levels of health and safety is of paramount importance to the company. We believe that building a sustained improvement in safety performance is fundamental to achieving a competitive edge. Our company endeavours to ensure that no person’s safety, whether an employee, contractor, customer or visitor is compromised through any BLH activity.
All employees commit to adhere to their relevant state's OHS Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice and Standards across all of our operations. Measurement and evaluation of our Key Reporting Areas (KRA) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) assist in improving our performance with the overall aim of reducing our injury and incident rate towards our goal of ‘zero harm’.
We also adhere to our Environmental Policy which aims to reduce environmental impact caused by our business operations. BLH strives to build positive relationships with both employees and clients, allowing close liaison with contracted company management when on site. Our internal systems deliver mentoring and on-going support, along with relevant training that assists BLH employees to have an understanding of the culture of the workplace and client OHS expectations.
BLH has been a member of the National Safety Council of Australia for over 3 years. NSCA helps BLH to continuously improve our workplace health, safety and environment, and keep our HSE team trained to the highest standard.
BLH maintains a high level of duty of care by providing ongoing management of all employees and a strict OHS Audit Schedule, ensuring a safe working environment is provided on client's sites.
Our internal quality controls also include a comprehensive and stringent code of ethics and BLH’s ‘Life Protecting Rules’ signed off by and adhered to by all employees.
